Solo Travel Together
Small-group travel for women
Vietnam: Jan 30–Feb 7 | Japan: Feb 19–27, 2027
The freedom of solo travel with support, connection, and space to discover what you’re capable of
You want to travel independently, but there are some places you’re just not sure you want to tackle completely on your own.
Maybe you’ve traveled on your own before, but somewhere as far away or unfamiliar as Vietnam or Japan feels like a bigger step.
You don’t want a traditional group tour where every day is planned for you. You want plenty of freedom to choose how you spend your time, with preparation and support before the trip, a few planned times together once we’re there, and the comfort of knowing there are people nearby when you want connection. You want enough support to make the trip feel doable without so much structure that it stops feeling like your own.
And maybe part of what draws you to Asia is seeing what happens when you step outside your comfort zone. You may be surprised by what you enjoy, how comfortable you become doing things on your own, and what you learn about yourself along the way.
Solo Travel Together combines independent travel with a small group, practical travel preparation, and guided reflection before, during, and after the trip.
Before we go, our time together will include both practical travel preparation and conversations about what you want from the experience. We’ll talk about things like getting there, feeling prepared, confidence, independence, and any travel nerves. During and after the trip, we’ll continue the reflection so you can pay attention to what you’re learning about yourself, build confidence in your own choices, and think about what you want to take back into your everyday life.
You don’t have to be someone who normally seeks out personal-growth experiences. You just need to be open to reflecting, talking honestly, and being curious about what you notice along the way.
What to Expect
Why I Created This
Travel has helped me listen to myself more deeply and trust the woman I was becoming.
Some of my clearest moments have come while traveling on my own. Being abroad solo made me pay more attention to what I wanted and gave me more confidence in my own instincts and choices.
I also know that many women are drawn to that kind of freedom but hesitate to take the leap completely alone, especially somewhere far from home. I’m creating these experiences to make that step feel more possible, without taking away the independence that makes it so valuable.
The Details
The experience starts before we leave and continues after we come home.
01 Before the trip
We’ll meet twice before we leave so we already know one another when we arrive. We’ll talk about what you want personally from the experience and what will help you feel prepared and confident traveling independently.
Included:
A short application and fit conversation
Two 60-minute online group sessions
Getting-there and arrival guidance including what to consider when choosing your route and layovers, what to expect when you land, and how to get from the airport to the recommended area
Guided reflection on what you want from the experience, including confidence, independence, flexibility, group connection, and travel nerves
A practical destination guide with hotel recommendations, restaurants and local favorites, cultural tips, useful apps, local resources and emergency information
A private group chat
02 During the trip
Most of the trip will be yours. We’ll come together at a few key points to connect, reflect, and share parts of the experience, with plenty of room to make your own plans.
Included:
My presence in the destination during the official program dates
A welcome gathering + orientation, midpoint reflection, and closing gathering
Informal opportunities to join me for meals and local experiences
Short optional journal reflection prompts and mental-fitness practices
Practical support at designated times, including help figuring out where to turn if something unexpected happens
Plenty of independent time
03 After the trip
After we return, we’ll reconnect to talk about what came up for you, what became clearer, and what each woman wants to continue in her everyday life.
Included:
One live group integration session
Reflection on what you learned about yourself
Conversation about what you want to change, try, or continue
What a day might look like:
One morning I may let everyone know I’m going to a coffee-making workshop and invite anyone who wants to come. Afterward, you might spend the afternoon exploring on your own, meet someone from the group for lunch, or head back to your hotel and relax.
Why now?
Life can get so busy that it’s hard to notice what you want, what gives you energy, or what you may be ready to change.
Being somewhere new creates a little distance from all of that. You have room to pay attention to your own reactions, preferences, and self-trust. And when some of that experience is on your own, you find your way, make decisions, handle uncertainty, and realize you’re more capable than you thought.
You may come home with a clearer sense of what matters to you, more confidence in yourself, and a better idea of what comes next.
Da Nang and Hoi An, Vietnam
January 30 to February 7, 2027
Da Nang: January 30 to February 4
Hoi An: February 4 to February 7
Da Nang surprised me with how quickly I felt at home. I loved the ocean, the fresh food, the friendliness, and how easy it was to meet people. I went to local meetups, made connections, and still had plenty of time on my own. Some days, one of my favorite things was simply sitting by the window and looking out at the sea.
I felt calm and completely comfortable being there on my own, without feeling isolated. This gave me the confidence to take time to breathe and reflect and was where I truly began to appreciate the freedom of solo travel.
We’ll start there with time to settle in, explore, and get to know one another. On February 4, we’ll move to lantern-filled Hoi An as Vietnam prepares to welcome the Lunar New Year.
Tết is the Vietnamese Lunar New Year and the country’s most important holiday. It’s a time centered around new beginnings, hope, and good fortune. I love the idea of being there as one year ends and another begins, especially for a trip that is already about discovering what we want more of in our lives.
You may be drawn to this experience if...
You want somewhere warm and welcoming where you can slow down, try traveling more independently in a comfortable environment, connect with other women, and have some space to think about what you want next.
Kyoto, Japan
February 19 to February 27, 2027
I never expected Japan to become one of my favorite places. The first time I went, both of our boys had just left home at the same time, and I was suddenly an empty nester. I needed a distraction, and for some reason, Japan became the place I wanted to go.
Kyoto surprised me most. I was there during the changing autumn leaves, and I remember being in almost constant awe of the colors, temples, and gardens. Some of the gardens genuinely took my breath away.
What I remember just as much, though, is how calm I felt there. During a stressful time in my life, when I was usually busy and distracted, I slowed way down. I sat in gardens longer than I normally would have. I paid attention to the beauty, the quiet, and the ceremony around me instead of rushing on to the next thing.
This is the feeling I want to share.
Late February may overlap with the beginning of plum blossom season, although blossoms and exact seasonal conditions can’t be guaranteed.
You may be drawn to this experience if...
You want to experience somewhere completely different, stretch yourself through independent travel, and have enough space to slow down, pay attention, and see what comes up when you’re not rushing through your usual life.
Which experience sounds more like you?
Whether you’re drawn to the warmth and ease of Vietnam or the quiet beauty of Kyoto, the underlying experience is the same: self-discovery, more independence, reconnection with what you want.
“A natural who has a gift for making clients feel safe yet stretching them to see themselves and the world differently.”
Why travel with me
I love trying new things, traveling to new places, and seeing where a day takes me. I’m also a planner at heart. When it matters, I research the details and think through what will make things easier.
That combination is a big part of how I travel. I might sign up for a local meetup, wander into a weird museum, or change my plans because something interesting came up, but I’ve usually already figured out how I’m getting home.
I also bring my work as a professional coach and facilitator into the experience. I’m good at helping people connect, feel calm and cared for, and see themselves and what they’re capable of a little more clearly.
My goal is to give you the best of both: enough preparation and support to feel comfortable and enough freedom to be curious, spontaneous, and surprised by what you discover.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. You’ll make your own travel arrangements and have substantial independent time. I’ll provide the group structure, practical preparation, destination guidance, guided reflection, connection, and support while we’re there.
-
In some ways, yes. There’s a personal-growth process woven through the experience, with guided conversations before, during, and after the trip. But it won’t feel like a traditional retreat with a packed schedule or most of the day spent together.
You’ll have plenty of independent time, three planned group gatherings, and opportunities to join me and other women for meals and local experiences.
And you don't need to be someone who would normally sign up for coaching. You just need to be open to reflecting, talking honestly, and being curious about what the experience brings up for you.
-
This is for women who are comfortable traveling but would rather not take on a faraway or unfamiliar destination completely alone. You should be comfortable booking your own flight and hotel, navigating airports, making your own choices, and spending part of the day independently. You do not need to be an experienced solo international traveler.
If you're looking for someone to book and manage your travel, guide you through every airport connection, or keep the group together from departure to return, a fully escorted group trip will probably be a better fit.
-
Each experience will only be confirmed once at least four women have committed. You’ll receive clear confirmation before I advise you to make nonrefundable travel arrangements.
I’m intentionally keeping each group small, and I’ll confirm the final group-size limit before booking opens.
-
We’ll have three planned group gatherings: a welcome gathering, midpoint reflection, and closing gathering. There will also be opportunities to join me for meals and local experiences throughout the trip.
You’ll have plenty of time to explore independently, rest, or make your own plans, and you’re welcome to make plans separately with other women in the group too.
-
Most days will include plenty of time to make your own plans, along with opportunities to connect with me and the other women.
For example, I might let the group know I’m planning to go to a coffee-making workshop in the morning and would love company if anyone wants to join. Afterward, you might explore on your own, meet someone from the group for lunch, head back to your hotel to relax, or follow one of the recommendations in the destination guide.
On three days, we’ll have our planned welcome, midpoint, and closing gatherings. Beyond those, I’ll have plenty of ideas for restaurants, local experiences, and interesting things to do, and our group chat will make it easy to see if anyone else wants to join you.
The idea is to have enough structure and connection that you never feel like you’ve simply been dropped into a city on your own, while leaving plenty of room for the independence that makes this experience different.
-
No. The welcome, midpoint, and closing gatherings are core parts of the experience, so I ask everyone to plan to attend those. Everything else is your choice. You can join me for a meal or local experience when it interests you and do your own thing when it doesn’t.
-
Before the trip, I’ll provide practical guidance to help you feel prepared. That includes what to look for in an itinerary, connection times and layovers, arrival timing, the trade-offs between different routes, recommended hotels and areas to stay, airport transportation, restaurant recommendations and local favorites, cultural and safety tips, useful apps, and other destination resources.
While we’re there, I’ll also be available for practical support at designated times if you’re unsure how to navigate something or need help figuring out where to turn. You’ll still book and manage your own flights, hotel, transportation, meals, activities, and personal travel needs.
-
I’ll ask participants to stay within a recommended area and choose from a short hotel list when possible. This will make meeting and communication easier while allowing each woman to select the accommodation that works for her.
-
No. I’ll provide guidance and recommendations, but each participant will book and manage her own travel.
-
Each participant has different preferences, departure cities, budgets, and accommodation needs. Booking independently lets you choose what works best for you while keeping control of your own travel.
-
Hotels, meals, and activities are surprisingly affordable! Many people think trips to Asia cost a fortune (especially Japan), but that hasn’t been my experience.
Travel costs will vary depending on where you’re flying from, the hotel you choose, and how you spend your time. As a rough planning estimate, I’d expect travel expenses of about $2,200–$2,600 for the nine days, in addition to the program fee. Flights are likely to be the biggest variable.
-
Yes. You may extend your travel independently before or after the formal experience.
-
If something unexpected happens while we’re there, I can help you identify the appropriate local resource and think through the next steps.
Each participant is still responsible for her own health, safety, bookings, and travel arrangements and will be required to carry appropriate travel insurance. I can help you find the right resource, but I’m not a substitute for emergency services, medical professionals, insurers, or other travel providers.
-
No. I’m a professional personal and professional growth coach, and the experience will include guided reflection and personal-growth conversations. It isn’t therapy, counseling, crisis support, or mental-health treatment.
If part of you is already imagining yourself there, listen to it.
No commitment. Joining the interest list simply opens the conversation.
No payment information is requested. Joining the list doesn’t reserve a place or commit you to travel.
