The Space Between Who You Were and Who You're Becoming
You thought you had it figured out.
You’ve always had a good head on your shoulders. You know who you are. You’ve handled hard things before. You’ve been the strong one, the steady one, the one who makes a plan and lands on her feet smiling.
But this time, the ground feels uneven.
This transition, whatever it is, feels different.
Maybe you’re more emotional than you expected.
Maybe your usual clarity feels clouded.
Maybe the version of you that once fit… doesn’t anymore.
The In-Between Space
This is the in-between: the space between no longer and not yet.
It’s deeply uncomfortable. It can feel messy, lonely, or unfamiliar. But one day, it will be a gift.
Because the in-between is where becoming happens.
You don’t have to rush to the next thing.
You don’t have to power through or figure it all out today.
You get to be here, exactly as you are.
An Invitation to Pause
Over the next several weeks, I’ll be exploring life transitions, those seasons that shake our identity and ask us to rediscover who we are.
Together, we’ll look at the many in-betweens we face, like:
Empty nest and rediscovering yourself
Moving abroad and living with a dual identity
Relationships shifting and changing
New parenthood and blurred identity
Perimenopause and the changing self
Letting go of titles and roles
Career pivots, health changes, and more
Each post is an invitation to pause, reflect, and remember that even in the middle of uncertainty, you are not broken, and you are not alone.
A Gentle Reminder
The in-between isn’t just something to get through. It’s a place to breathe, to listen, and to trust that you are becoming someone wiser.
So take a deep breath. Let yourself feel.
Give yourself time.
You’re allowed to begin again.
Reflection Question: Is there a part of you that no longer fits, and you're not sure what’s next?
